Queen Camilla of the United Kingdom enters the world of podcasts.

In 2021, Camilla, then Duchess of Cornwall, launched a new initiative, “The Duchess of Cornwall’s Reading Room”, a book club born from sharing reading suggestions during the pandemic.

The initiative became an official charity and was renamed “The Queen’s Reading Room” and now there will be a related podcast—joining the book podcast genre and following in the footsteps of other royals, such as Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie, who have their own podcasts.

The structure of the series takes listeners on a journey to experience some of the Camilla’s favorite books.

Queen Camilla will not be hosting the podcast, as the chief executive of The Queen’s Reading Room, Vicky Perrin, will be interviewing the authors. Camila, however, will participate.

Episodes will include a short segment from the Queen before interviews with a different guest each time.

“The Queen’s Reading Room podcast is a place for book lovers – and those who wish to love literature a little more – to be inspired by the confessions of the world’s literary heroes,” the organization said in a statement.

“Writers from around the world have shared their literary treasures with us, revealing their favorite authors, most treasured books and earliest reading memories. Which author does Sir Ian Rankin read when he’s not in a good mood? What masterpiece has Anne Patchett abandoned time and time again? The all-new series enters the homes and hearts of the authors we love most.

The first episode of the podcast is expected on January 8, 2024 on streaming platforms.
