Journalist José Roberto Burnier, 63, discovered he was having a heart attack after working at Globo, last Friday (29). He drove to the hospital when he started to have some symptoms of feeling unwell. Once there, he underwent surgery. He still doesn’t have a discharge forecast.
Burnier, who completed 40 years with Globo, had his first appearance for São Paulo precisely on the attraction he now commands, SPTV, between 1984 and 1985.
The journalist has been married for more than 35 years to veterinarian Rúbia, with whom he has two daughters: Júlia, 32, an actress graduated from USP, and Olívia, 28, a graduate in administration from Faculdade Getúlio Vargas, an Amazon executive.
In his spare time, what Burnier likes to do most is ride a motorcycle. In an interview with F5 last year, he said he usually travels between 200 and 250 kilometers to relax on the weekends. According to the journalist, the routine on the road makes him disconnect from his problems and serves as therapy.
Another curiosity about Burnier is his love for his favorite team, Palmeiras. The passion is shared by his great friend and also journalist Carlos Tramontina. The two already had special seats at the team’s stadium.
In a quick chat with F5 after the surgery, Burnier said that he had no plans to leave Sírio Libanês, but that he was grateful to be alive.
“I got a stent, a balloon and a new life. I’m fine, thank God,” he said.
