At the age of 68, after 150 films in his long career, o Willem Dafoe (Willem Dafoe) was honored with star at Avenue of Glory in Hollywood, with family, friends and colleagues in attendance – including Mark Ruffalo, who star together in George Lanthimos’ Golden Globe-winning film Poor Things.

“It’s an honor to be here and to be a part of this,” said the actor, pointing to the famous Hollywood Boulevard.

“It’s great to be a part of this community of artists and people, sharing their experiences and seeing things from their perspective makes us feel closer to each other and unites us,” added Dafoe.

As one of Hollywood’s most versatile and distinctive actors, Dafoe has played roles ranging from the chatty lighthouse keeper in ‘The Lighthouse’, a gangster in David Lynch’s ‘Wild At Heart’ and Vincent van Gogh in ‘At Eternity’s Gate”, to Jesus in “The Last Temptation of Jesus” by Scorsese, based on the book by N. Kazantakis.

He has received four Academy Award nominations – one for Best Actor for his performance as Van Gogh – and three for Best Supporting Actor.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony was attended by Pedro Pascal and Patricia Arquette who praised Dafoe’s generosity and talent. Pedro Pascal praised Willem Dafoe as his “most important teacher”.

“He redefines the concept of revolutionary and originality by turning it into generosity, integrity, kindness and fun,” Pascal said of his “amazing friend.”

“I will say that he is the best American actor of our time,” he said.
