Vera Fischer says that the last few years at Globo were not good: ‘There was a salary reduction’

Vera Fischer has been away from Globo since 2020 and is investing her career in theater. She travels around Brazil with the play “When I am Mother I Want to Love This Jeito”. The actress, who started out on stage, says she doesn’t understand colleagues who limit themselves to roles on television.

“They are professionals who have become comfortable on television and feel insecure to the point of self-deprecation.”

Despite saying that she felt afraid at the beginning of the new phase without a fixed contract with the broadcaster, Vera claims that her last years there displeased her.

“My last six years at Globo were not great, there was a salary reduction and when they rarely called me it was for characters without any nuance or complexity”, he says in an interview with the newspaper O Estadão de São Paulo. Vera also says that she was never part of any group at work. “I’m not the kind of person who flatters others.”

In 2023, the artist said that older women do not have important characters on television.

“I couldn’t do anything else that Globo didn’t allow. I spent 45 years like this and in recent years I was no longer finding the characters they offered me interesting. I don’t know if it’s a question of age, but older women don’t have important characters, at least on television.”
