In housing policy programs which implements it Ministry of Social Cohesion and Familyin order to ensuring affordable and quality housing for young people, young couples and familiessaid the responsible minister, Sophia Zacharakisspeaking today on the “Parapolitika FM” radio station.

Mrs. Zaharaki emphasized that the program will also be aired immediately “Renovate-Rent” which it will concern approximately 12,500 homes. The features of the program are similar to social housing, as well the owners will receive the government grant for the renovation work after they post online the lease contract of at least three years.

Recognizing the cost of housing in Greece, which is the highest in the European Unionand the pressure it mainly causes to young people and families with children and vulnerable households, the Minister of Social Cohesion and Family “stood” in the program “My House”, with eligible young people up to 39 years of age, with which 2,596 new couples have already found their home and loans amounting to 247 million euros have been disbursed. He also noted that the budget of the program in question amounting to 1 billion euros was used up immediately and pointed out that “this shows that it is successful”.

At the same time, he reminded that the program is “running”. “Coverage” in 44 municipalities so far, 383 owner-occupied properties have been covered and we have 138 housed households. Perspectives the program can accommodate 1,000 households in real estate which were previously used for the “Estia” program. The total budget of the program amounts to 21.5 million euros.
