The time he left us was generally accepted as difficult and this is something we have discussed many times. But at the same time it was full of surprises. For me one of the biggest was that I managed to perfect my goal for consistency in the gym, this year.
The idea was born at the beginning of the year; in conditions of quarantine, immobility and inactivity, the human body is definitely sick and deprived of its good physical condition.
The plan was simple, I would follow a simple aerobic exercise program every day
In fact, this was the first time I decided to take an organized workout program, so I started with the goal in mind that I need a goal that will keep me focused on the gym and on the other hand that I will probably not be able to follow this program for the whole year.
Over the months the effort began to pay off and I noticed changes not only in my body but in my performance, wellness, energy, health and endurance as well. By the time the measures were lifted I had realized not only that I was going to continue exercising until the end of 2021 but that I would probably but maintain that habit for the rest of my life.
So, I went straight to the gym and created an even more intense fitness program. Of course, sticking to the workout plan I created was not always easy. There were definitely times when I got tired or my daily life distracted me from my goal. However, through these difficulties I found new ways to stay more focused on my program and I am here to share them with you:
Turn your goal into a daily habit. Adopt your new goal in a healthy and gradual way
It will soon become a habit that you will look forward to maintaining for many more years. Reduce your workout time by half. Exercising long hours will definitely bring more immediate results, but reducing the time you exercise and avoiding excesses will help you stay consistent in your schedule. In addition, it has been proven that overexertion can have negative – and long-term – irreversible consequences for the human body. Finally, short daily exercise will help improve your sleep and the health of your skin and menstrual cycle.
Consistency is your ally
Choose a time period for you to train and respect it. Sometimes even 10 to 20 minutes of daily exercise is enough to gain more health but mainly to make exercise an integral part of your routine. Observe how your healthy habits affect those around you.
A healthy lifestyle is contagious
It has been observed that people who follow a regular exercise program, are often an impetus for someone close to them, to adopt this habit. Follow your program faithfully and in the future you will probably be the driving force for someone who wants to start exercising as well.
After a year of systematic training I can now say with confidence that I have gained better knowledge of my body, more confidence, most importantly a healthy and strong body to support me in my daily life.
