Sabrina Sato’s exuberant and lively appearances at Carnival hide behind the scenes pain, irritation and sleep deprivation.
This is what the queen of Gaviões da Fieli and Unidos da Vila Isabel reveals in the fifth episode of the series “Carnaval da Sabrina” (Youtube and Globoplay).
To fulfill all her carnival commitments, the presenter slept, on average, two hours a day. Sometimes not even that. After parading in São Paulo, she went to Rio and didn’t have a minute to rest. She complained about never being able to be alone.
In addition to preparing for the presentation at Unidos da Vila Isabel, Sabrina needed to find time to take care of her daughter, Zoe, 5, who was not very well.
“I get extremely irritable,” she said of the lack of sleep. It’s a state of humor that people don’t expect from the muse always smiling on camera.
Sabrina’s advisors say, in the episode, that this year she was more anxious than in the past. The drum queen appeared in the video rushing her team – makeup artist, seamstresses, advisors, photographers – and asking not to be pressured.
In the days before the fashion shows, she had to balance working out, samba classes, photos, videos, clothing tests and her daughter’s trips to school. Zoe insists on her mother’s presence and the two take advantage of the road to talk.
The series also reveals the body pain he faces: the Gaviões coaster ripped the skin off his shoulders and the decorations left his head sore.
“I’m already starting Carnival feeling frayed and bruised,” she said. Clothing tests and tests caused the injuries. “I can’t say this around you, but I’m in pain. It’s serious.”
Between one finish and another, one of the seamstresses summed up the situation: “The rapadura is sweet, but it’s not soft.”
In the episode, Sabrina appeared eating a piece of pizza while standing and watching the bananas that the advisors would take to the sambadrome in Rio. She gets angry when someone eats part of the snack.
A zipper that broke on the day of the Vila Isabel parade made the atmosphere more tense. Already dressed, Sabrina told her daughter that the costume represents the bloodstream. “Oh, disgusting,” Zoe replied.
On the outskirts of the sambadrome, the advisors set up an improvised tent made of sheets for the samba dancer to finish the setup. About to parade, she appeared emotional as she distributed red roses to the public.
Everything worked out, despite the setbacks.
“Let’s drink”, shouted Sabrina, to applause from the team, at the end of the marathon.
