Martin Scorsese was awarded in 74th Berlinale with the honorary Golden Bear for his valuable contribution to cinema.

At the Festival press conference the iconic director revealed that he is still thinking about how he will approach the life of Jesus in his new film.

“I’m thinking about it right now. What kind of movie [θα είναι] I’m not entirely sure, but I want to do something unique and different that will be thought provoking and hopefully fun. I’m still not quite sure how I’m going to do it,” he said.

He also said that he hopes to continue working on the project once the promotional and awards tour for ‘Killers Of The Flower Moon’ is over.

“Maybe I’ll sleep for a while and then wake up and have this fresh idea of how to do it,” he noted.

According to Deadline, in the packed room the director received many questions while giving an optimistic answer about the future of cinema.

“No, I don’t think he dies completely, no. I think it’s transforming. It was never meant to be one thing. We were used to it being a thing. If you wanted to see a movie, you went to a theater… it was always a social experience,” he said and added:

“But technology has changed so rapidly and so exhaustively that in a sense the only thing you can really preserve is the individual voice which can be expressed either on TikTok or in a four-hour movie or a two-hour miniseries.

I don’t think we should let technology scare us. I think we should not become slaves to it. Let’s control the technology and put it in the right direction” underlined the legendary director.

“The right direction is from the individual voice, rather than something that is just consumed and thrown away.”
