It’s been almost 2.5 years since its bittersweet finale “The Walking Dead” and the final appearance of the undisputed star of the franchise Andrew Lincoln – which probably raised more questions than solved our questions about the fate of Rick.

Perhaps that is why the fans’ demand for answers was immediate and these answers were promised to be given by the new spin-offs of The Walking Dead Universe. Two of them, ‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’ which followed Maggie and Negan and my personal favorite ‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon’, came out last year and were, rather predictably, well loved.

But if we’re being honest, the really long-awaited spin-off was none other than “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live”which will finally reveal to us what happened to the fan favorite couple of the series, the Rick and Michonne.

With the series premiering Monday, February 26 at 10:00 PM on COSMOTE SERIES HD, we’ll try to cover some key questions about the series as we count down to Rick and Michonne’s return.

Where did we leave Rick and Michonne?

With Rick and Michonne gone for so long, their stories have huge gaps to fill. Not only has it been two years since the series finale, but Rick was supposed to show up since the explosion in season 9.

In the 177th and final episode of The Walking Dead, Michonne leaves to search for Rick alone, hoping he’s still alive. Indeed, in one of the franchise’s most memorable scenes, Rick is alive, but has just been tracked down by CRM. “There is no escape for the living,” he is told over the helicopter’s loudspeaker, as he realizes he can’t escape it, and that’s when we see a montage of all our favorite TWD characters (and Michonne, of course) reminding him ” We’re the ones who live’ – and who didn’t snort at this scene.

This heartwarming finale set the stage perfectly for the aptly titled spin-off, which will hopefully give us what we’ve been waiting for: a true Rick-Michonne reunion.
