Gary Sinise announced the death of his 33-year-old son.
The actor, best known for his roles in the films “Forrest Gump” and “Apollo 13”, announced that McCanna’s 33-year-old son Anthony Sinise died on January 5 after a battle with cancer.
In a post on the Gary Sinise foundation’s website, the actor wrote, among other things:
“Like any family that experiences such a loss, we are devastated and coping as best we can. As parents, it is so hard to lose your child. My heart goes out to everyone who has suffered a similar loss and to anyone who has lost a loved one.”

He also added that his son was an “excellent drummer” and that he gave him great times. The 68-year-old wrote that his son battled the rare Chordoma cancer for five and a half years, which became more difficult over time. Specifically, he said that this cancer originates in the spine and affects about 300 people in the US each year.
