The Rio de Janeiro Civil Police found the body believed to be that of Edson Caldas Barboza, 29, a Record actor who had been missing since the beginning of last month. He also arrested two men who are now being investigated for the death and are part of a criminal association specializing in robbery (robbery followed by death).
The family was asked to identify the body and carry out genetic tests. But confirmation of the death came from Edson’s wife, Jennyffer Vieira, who published a tribute to her husband on social media.
“It will forever be me, you and them. I will love you forever! Go with God, rest. I will always do everything for them”, said Jennyffer about the couple’s two children.
According to information from the Civil Police, Edson was lured into a sexual encounter, in Japeri, in Baixada Fluminense (RJ). Arriving at the scene, he was taken over by the criminals, who stole his watch and other personal items, in addition to forcing him to make bank transfers. Afterwards, he was taken to a bush and killed.
The actor, who starred in the soap opera “Gênesis” (Record), had last been seen on February 2 when he got into a car owned by an unknown person in front of a bar in the Coelho Neto neighborhood, in Rio de Janeiro.
Days later, the actor’s car, with gunshot marks and traces of blood, was found in Queimados, a municipality in the Baixada Fluminense region.
