Luísa Sonza announced this Tuesday (5) that she will release a new version of the song “Chico”. The song will be sung in English and hits platforms this Thursday (7). The news was announced by the singer who is in Los Angeles, United States.
“On the 7th or release Chico in English! Chiquérrimo. Produced by none other than one of the creators of bossa nova, Roberto Menescal. Nothing else matters to me”, said Sonza.
“It’s so much easier to give an interview here because they won’t try to make your life hell, invent something and distort everything, it’s just ‘Brasileña, Braziliana'”, commented Luísa, who attended the Madonna show the night before at the Kia Forum.
The song “Chico” was written for the singer’s ex-boyfriend, Chico Moedas. The two dated for four months and the announcement of the breakup was made by Luísa in September last year while participating in Mais Você, on Globo.
At the time, the singer cried when she was reminded by presenter Ana Maria Braga about the success of the song, which became one of the most listened to tracks in Brazil, from the album “Escândalo Íntimo” released at the end of August
Luísa read a text she had written to Chico confirming that she had been betrayed by the digital influencer in the bathroom of a bar, after a video of the boy with another woman circulated on social media.
