YouTube bans Monark from creating new channels: ‘They want to destroy me’

by

After defending the right to have a Nazi party in Brazil and being disconnected from the Flow podcast, podcaster Bruno Aiub, 31, better known as Monark, said that YouTube Brazil banned him from creating a new channel and that “powerful people” want to destroy it. it. The platform has also suspended monetization of the channel he already has on the platform.

“I’m suffering political persecution. They banned me from creating a new channel so I can continue my life, powerful people want to destroy me. Freedom of expression is dead,” he wrote on Twitter.

Accompanied by the tweet, he posted the message he received from YouTube, in which the platform says it is “very important that creators use their influence responsibly — both on and off the platform”.

“As such, we are concerned about recent Nazi-related statements on one of your channels, which could cause significant harm to the community and which furthermore violate our Content Creator Responsibility policies,” the YouTube text reads. Sought, the platform did not manifest itself until the conclusion of this text.

In video, Monark asks for help from netizens. He claims that his comments on Nazism were “unfortunate, yes, but in no way were they malicious or espoused extremist ideology.” “I suffered the consequences, I quit Flow, I missed my show, I apologized several times, but the retaliation doesn’t stop,” he says.

Monark further claims that he was wrong, but the consequences “are far out of proportion”. “I need your help because it’s not fair […] They are literally trying to end and annihilate my life. Is that what is fair? Is that what you think is fair?”

On February 7, Monark received federal deputies Kim Kataguiri (Podemos) and Tabata Amaral (PSB) on the Flow Podcast when he stated that “the radical left has much more space than the radical right”. “The two had to have space, in my opinion. I think the Nazi had to have the Nazi party recognized by law”, she said.

The next day, after the backlash and loss of sponsors, he was dropped from the Flow Podcast. Flow Studios also released a statement apologizing, “especially to the Jewish community”, and informing about the withdrawal of the episode.
