Presenter Ana Hickmann spoke again about the domestic violence she exposed and which became a legal case against her ex-husband, businessman Alexandre Correa.
During a live broadcast with retired judge Kenarik Boujikian and the coordinator of Casa de Mulher Brasileira, Ana Cristina Sousa, Ana became emotional, towards the end of the chat, and stated, when responding more directly about her own case.
“The word ‘shame’ is something that we all feel, when we go through violence and come across it. Emotional violence is the first one that we don’t want to believe is happening. Property violence we discover later in a very brutal way. Procedural violence is along the way to having our rights preserved”, he began.
“In a fight between a husband and wife, yes, there are countless ways we can help. Information is our greatest shield of protection. We are together. Don’t be afraid. Protect yourselves”, concluded the presenter.
Ana Cristina also congratulated Hickmann for the strength and courage shown amidst so much exposure. “Thank you for not being silent and being the voice of thousands, it’s about not being silent. Not being ashamed,” she added.
