New documentary about the band The Beach Boys will premiere on Disney+ on May 24.

The Beach Boys documentary follows the rise and fall of the legendary Californian pop group, featuring first-ever footage and all-new interviews with living members Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, David Marx, Bruce Johnston and Blondie Chaplin.

The movie also promises interviews with notable Beach Boys fans including Fleetwood Mac singer and guitarist Lindsey Buckingham and singers Ryan Tedder and Janelle Monae.

Frank Marshall and Tom Zimny ​​direct the documentary, which is described as “a celebration of the legendary band that revolutionized pop music and the iconic, harmonious sound they created that personified the California dream, captivating fans for generations.”

The documentary soundtrack will be available to stream alongside the film’s May 24 premiere. The premiere of the documentary will coincide with the re-release of the Beach Boys’ 1964 album ‘Shut Down Vol. 2” on limited edition vinyl on March 29th. The group’s official book, “The Beach Boys by the Beach Boys,” will also be released on April 2 via Genesis Publications.
