The first part of the ambitious four-part western series “Horizon, An American Saga”of Kevin Costner will premiere next month on Cannes Film Festival according to a statement from the organizers.

Specifically, the first two films will be shown on May 19 at the famous film festival, with the creator and the protagonists attending the red carpet of the Croisette.

It is noted that the two productions will make their debut in cinemas this summer, from Warner Bros. The first is expected on June 28 and the second on August 16. The other two films have not yet been shot.

“It’s been 20 years since I had the pleasure of being on the Croisette”Costner said in a statement. “I’ve been waiting for the right moment to come back and I’m proud to say that this moment has come. “Horizon, An American Saga” is a story that began 35 years ago, and I can think of no better place than Cannes to reveal to the world the result of such a wonderful adventure. The French have always supported movies and believed deeply in filmmaking. Just like I think about my film”.

Costner, who directs from a script he co-wrote with John S. Baird and produces, stars an all-star cast including Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Danny Huston, Jeana Malone, Michael Rooker and Will Patton.

The 77th Cannes Film Festival will be held from May 14 to 25. As the AP reports, the Warner Bros. film will also premiere “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” by George Miller.

The official program of this year’s festival will be announced on Thursday, April 11, 2024.
