52-year-old Martha Louise of Norway is the eldest child and only daughter of King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway.

In 2002 she married the writer Ari Ben, with whom she had three daughters. The couple split in 2016 and in 2019 Ben took his own life.

For 5 years now, the princess of Norway has found love again in the face of a controversial businessman and bisexual (as he declares) self-proclaimed shaman, 49-year-old Durek Veret.

The couple announced their engagement in 2023 and the princess wrote on social media at the time: “Love is transcendent and makes us grow. And I am so happy that I will continue to grow with this wonderful man. Thank you to all my friends and family who stood by us steadfastly.”

The scandal that erupted after their engagement was announced was so great that Martha Louise announced that she was stepping down from her royal duties and that Durek would not receive any titles after the wedding.

“We promise a fairytale wedding”

The couple – despite the uproar and backlash – are set to marry on August 31 at the historic Union Hotel in Geiranger, a small town in western Norway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Wedding preparations are in full swing as three days of festivities – parties, events and fjord cruises – are planned for the guests.

For the big day, the bride and groom promise a real “fairy tale wedding” but without cameras and cellphones.

Also according to the guidelines, women should wear evening dresses, but with an explicit prohibition: “No white, no black, no pink, no gold.”

As for men, they are encouraged to wear formal suits or tuxedos.
