Meg Ryan spoke of feeling “liberated” since turning 62, revealing that she has stopped trying to please people.
The 62-year-old actress – who recently made a stylish appearance at the 68th RNE Sant Jordi Awards in Barcelona – says with age comes maturity and wisdom and now feels confident to speak her mind and share her views on love, life and relationships.

In an interview with the Italian publication “IO Donna”, she said: “I appreciate my age, I mean it. I value my age. For me, now, it’s more important to speak your mind clearly than to please others and try to make everyone happy.
I almost feel liberated because I said certain things and made observations about love and relationships. And because I tried to be honest. I can finally look back and be in the present at the same time”the actress pointed out.

Explaining the reasons for her abstinence for a while from acting and Hollywood, she noted: “I needed other experiences, to meet people outside the film industry.
That’s why I moved to New York, raised my daughter, Daisy, and then started traveling, mostly to far away countries.”.
Ryan said that being out of the spotlight helped her see things more clearly as she learned to balance her career with her family. “I was bored and I’m glad I made this choice and moved away from this world: I became a better and more interesting person”concluded.
