Sci-Fi queen Sigourney Weaver is in talks to star in the upcoming Star Wars film, The Mandalorian & Grogu.

News of Weaver’s involvement was first reported by The InSneider newsletter and sent fans into a frenzy.

Details about her role are currently unknown, but given Weaver’s history as the lead in sci-fi blockbusters, the filmmakers’ choice seems the most appropriate.

The Mandalorian & Grogu movie was first announced last January.

Pedro Pascal will reprise his role from the 2019 Disney+ series ‘The Mandalorian’. The Chilean-American actor will now appear on the big screen.

Jon Favreau, creator of “The Mandalorian” series, will return to direct the film, which also marks the first feature-length release of the “Star Wars” universe since 2019’s “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.” Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy and creative director Dave Filoni will produce, as will Favreau. The film is slated to release on May 22, 2026.
