Police are investigating who administered the ketamine to Matthew Perry, as written by almost all the international media. The actor, who rose to fame for his role as everyone’s favorite Chandler on Friends, died at his home in Los Angeles last October after being found dead in a swimming pool.

As the Los Angeles police announced, they are cooperating with the US Drug Enforcement Administration and the Postal Inspection Service to investigate why 54-year-old “Chandler Bing” brought such a quantity of the drug into his system, who gave it to him and under what circumstances.

People close to the actor told coroners that he was being treated with ketamine, the use of which has exploded in recent years as a treatment for depression, anxiety and pain. However, according to the medical examiner, Perry’s last treatment, a week and a half earlier, does not account for the ketamine levels in his blood, as the drug is usually metabolized within a few hours.

Perry was seen by at least two doctors, a psychiatrist and an anesthesiologist who served as his primary care physician, the medical examiner’s report said. No illegal drugs were found in his home.
