The small screen’s 2024 offering so far is full of style and substance.

  • Bridgerton

The third season is out and focuses on the budding romance of Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton), as he returns from his summer getaway, meaner than ever. Penelope struggles to keep her alter ego, Lady Whistledown, a secret, with other series favorites such as Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) and Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) returning to add their own drama. Tune in for more naughtiness and busty corsets. It’s already on Netflix from May 16th.

  • The Bear

Calling all Jeremy Allen White lovers… The wait for the next installment of The Bear is finally over. Hero chef Carmy returns for the third round, serving up more adventures than ever with his lovable kitchen team that includes Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), Marcus (Lionel Boyce) and other players. The plot is well hidden, but if last season’s ending is anything to go by, there’s a lot of emotional baggage to be unraveled this season. On Hulu since June.

  • A Man in Full

Regina King joins forces with TV maestro David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies, The Undoing) for this Succession-style thriller. King is in the director’s chair, with Jeff Daniels playing Charlie Croker, the disgraced real estate tycoon whose life spectacularly unravels overnight. Diane Lane steals the show as his long-suffering wife, and with supporting roles like Lucy Liu’s, you can be sure this will be a talking point on TV. It’s playing on Netflix now.

  • Ripley

The original film version, starring Jude Law, Matt Damon and Gwyneth Paltrow, was nothing short of iconic, so hopes are high for this new Netflix production, reimagined by Schindler’s List author Steven Zaillian. Fleabag hottie Andrew Scott takes on the role of eponymous crook Tom Ripley, who infiltrates the bubble of prodigal Dickie Greenleaf (Johnny Flynn) and his girlfriend Marge Sherwood (Dakota Fanning) – with horrific consequences. You’ll see award-winning performances from this incredible cast of industry greats. It’s now on Netflix.

  • Queenie

Candice Carty-Williams’ luminous coming-of-age novel became an instant classic when it was released in 2019, and now its unique protagonist, Queenie Jenkins, is brought to life on the small screen. The series will stay true to its brilliant book as Queenie navigates heartbreak, toxic relationships and family dynamics with tear-jerking moments and plenty of laugh-out-loud humor. Catch it on Hulu starting June 7.
