A few words about the choral ensemble CHÓRES
The women’s choral group CHÓRES is an artistic nursery created by Marina Satti with the aim of cultivating the skills of its members in music, dance and acting as well as shaping them as artists with a broad education and social perception.
CHÓRES experiments on the connection of different aesthetic and cultural elements, transcending geographical and age boundaries and utilizing various expressive means. They now number more than 150 women aged 15-60 who practice on a regular basis in the entire spectrum of the performing arts. Their eclectic repertoire includes traditional Greek songs, songs from the Balkans and the Eastern Mediterranean as well as original compositions and arrangements of traditional songs by Greek and foreign composers, several of which were written especially for CHÓRES.
They work with her National Opera as a guest ensemble and have taken part in numerous concerts, performances and choral festivals in Greece and abroad. In the context of the institution “2023 Eleusis Cultural Capital of Europe”, Mysterio_96 DAUGHTERS was organized, an educational and performance activity that included the formation of a local choral ensemble, regular meetings and workshops, as well as artistic actions in the city of Eleusis culminating in the appearance of total at the Opening Ceremony in February 2023.
In April 2024 the choir took part in the Olympic Flame Handover Ceremony of the 33rd Summer Olympic Games “Paris 2024” at the Panathenaic Stadium, singing the Olympic Anthem in collaboration with the National Symphony Orchestra of ERT
