‘At 70, I have the right to do whatever I want,’ says Rita Cadillac

Exactly 70 years ago, on Saint Anthony’s Day 1954, Rita de Cássia Coutinho was born in Rio de Janeiro, who two decades later would become known throughout Brazil as Rita Cadillac.

“I’m glad my mother didn’t name me Antônia [em homenagem ao santo]”, jokes Rita, in an interview with F5. “I think it’s pretty, but it wouldn’t suit me, have you thought about Toninha Cadillac?”, he laughs.

In 1975, Rita debuted on TV as a stage assistant and dancer at Cassino do Chacrinha. She ended up becoming the most famous and longest-lasting career among the chacretes. After the end of the program, with the death of the presenter, in 1988, Rita launched herself as a singer and actress. She recorded albums, made soap operas and starred in adult films alongside partners such as Alexandre Frota.

The arrival of a new age will be celebrated in an intimate way, with family lunch and dinner with close friends, says Rita. “It’s been 70 years of life and 50 years of career. I can only be grateful for my health and the affection of people. I’m great, working hard”, she says.

With a young physique and head, “which is the most important thing”, he emphasizes, Rita continues to be active, performing at events and selling “spicy” content, as she says, on the Onlyfans and Privacy platforms. And she says she is surprised by the number of subscribers who follow her profiles.

“I have fans from that time, but there are also a lot of boys. Boy is the way to say it, okay? Young, beautiful men. I can’t complain,” he says. “For someone who’s turning 70, it’s really cool to have a young audience.”

In virtual interactions, subscribers ask Rita to twerk while wearing little cloth, as she did on open TV in the 1970s and 1980s. There are also fans of more contemporary fetishes, such as showing off her feet.

“The public asks for things and we do them if we want. You decide. I’ve even been asked to do rehearsals in a cemetery, but I didn’t do that”, he recalls, laughing. Weird requests aside, Rita says she likes the self-sufficient dynamics of the platforms. “I’m from a time when photos were only on paper. Today we no longer depend on magazines, you make your own photos, videos, and show production”, she says.

Although the platforms supplement her income, she says her main source of survival is her shows, sold for private events such as weddings, birthdays and company parties.

“I sing, dance, play with the audience, make the audience participate. People have fun. They keep asking me to sing ‘It’s Good for Morale’. This song is 40 years old and they still ask me every time”, he is proud. “I live off the Rita Cadillac Show. She’s the one who continues to work. I’m still active, in the media and doing my events”, she says.

RETURN TO PORN

Although she generated commotion two months ago, when she announced a “feat” with porn actor Jefão, Rita rules out returning to the genre, at least for now.

“I made it at people’s request, but it wasn’t really a porn film, it was more of a sensual film”, he explains. “I don’t know if I would go back at this moment, but I could go back tomorrow if I wanted. At 70 years old, I have the right to do whatever I want”, he simplifies.

Asked if ageism bothers her, Rita shrugs: “If they even criticize Anitta, they even criticize Pabllo, Ludmilla, Gloria Groove, why won’t they criticize Rita Cadillac?”, she says.

“On the internet, there will always be someone criticizing you. Even you will have someone criticizing you”, he warns the reporter. “Some people say mean things, to really hurt. But I deal with it calmly. Thank God, there are also a lot of people who care and respect me. That’s what interests me,” she says.

If there’s anything she gained from her years on the road, besides the peace of mind of being who she is, it’s her pride when looking at her own trajectory, says Rita. “It’s difficult to survive as an artist in Brazil. It’s even more difficult for a person who works with the body, with dance, to reach 50 years of career”, she says.

NO NEURA

The secret to reaching 70 in high heels, dancing, swaying and with a sharp mind is to live calmly, without fuss and enjoying yourself with friends.

“I’m going to be very honest: I don’t diet. I use common sense, if today I ate something excessive, tomorrow I’ll fix it. I don’t have any dietary restrictions. But I also don’t drink, I don’t use drugs”, she says. “Sometimes I go to the gym, sometimes I don’t go,” she admits, who, however, maintains her check-up routine and takes care of her health — including mental health. “The mind being good, everything is good.”

When asked what is the greatest treasure she has accumulated over her 50 years of career and 70 years of life, she answers without hesitation: her friends. “The friendships I made throughout my life, the respect and affection from the fans, the experience of being able to meet people, make friends, that was the best thing my career brought me,” she says.

“My only wish today is to be healthy, continue working and continue to be a respected person”, concludes Rita.
