“Do you know rich people’s pants?” asks influencer Bianca Camargo, 28, at the beginning of the video. Throughout the shoot, she tries to prove that the right model — straight cut, with a high waist and slightly flared — can make any woman look “rich”.

The post has accumulated 3.7 million views on Instagram and more than 15 thousand likes on TikTok (the platform no longer makes this data available). Data from Google Trends shows that interest in “rich pants” saw an intense increase after the success of the video, with searches peaking on June 2nd. The data comprises the last 30 days.

Bianca tells F5 who doesn’t consider himself a sophisticated person, but sometimes wants to convey that image, which is totally possible, in his opinion. “Anyone can. It’s about knowing how to choose the right model of items. I think people need this, to learn how to dress in a more elegant way, but in a democratized way”, he said.

Although the video in question shows a Zara fast fashion model, priced at R$279 (it’s not expensive, but it’s not a bargain either), she emphasizes that there are other options that can achieve the same result.

Some are higher priced, others are cheaper. The important thing, he emphasizes, is that they manage to give the impression that they are part of the wardrobe of a person interested in fashion, with a penchant for investing in luxury brands.

“There are thousands of models spread out in Instagram shops, department stores, Renner, Riachuelo, C&A, Marisa. The wild piece is straight, cropped pants, that go to the floor and hit the shin, so it’s not really about the brand, It’s about modeling.”

Bianca, born in Uberlândia, MG, graduated in law, moved to São Paulo at the age of 22 to invest in a career as a digital influencer. Before going viral with her “rich pants”, she had around 600 thousand followers and focused her content on fashion, fitness and travel.

After her success, however, she reached the mark of 1 million followers in one month and, therefore, saw an opportunity to follow this path. “I’ve always liked dressing well, and for some time now, I’ve identified more with this more sophisticated, more classic, more timeless type of style”, says the influencer.

Bianca says that, to her own surprise, she doesn’t receive much criticism. The public seems to understand her content and does not accuse her of trying to be something she is not: “It’s a joke. In my opinion, you don’t necessarily need to have this style 24 hours a day. The rich girl video is for when you want to get through that message of security and authority, and not necessarily telling others that you are rich, when you are not”, she says.

After the pants video, came the “rich shorts”, the rich “flat” sandals, the rich look in the cold, at the gym, at beach tennis, on a Valentine’s Day date, and so on. Other online users also tried the “rich” pieces. Check out:
