Sheila Mello used social media to say that she was diagnosed with pneumonia. The former É o Tchan dancer felt unwell in the early hours of this Sunday (16) and decided to seek medical attention at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, in São Paulo.
With a cough and high fever, she underwent several tests and the doctors confirmed pneumonia. After a few hours, she was discharged from the hospital to continue her recovery at home. “I had a persistent cough for two weeks. I was fine, because I didn’t have a fever, but that night I was very short of breath, I couldn’t sleep and I went to the hospital. Do you believe it was pneumonia? The doctor said it was a epidemic. If you have a dry cough and it’s persisting, run.”
Sheila said she was scared by the number of people diagnosed with the disease and spoke about a message she received from a nurse congratulating her content on the networks about body care and mental health.
“I posted that I was in the hospital and after I had a pneumonia report, a nurse sent me a message talking about a pneumonia epidemic and the increase in the number of people with psychiatric problems,” Sheila began in the video.
She continued saying that the nurse also praised her for her reflective posts regarding health: “Where do I want to go with this? In this reflection that we analyze the symptoms in the body, but what about the emotions? What do they mean, what led my body to a health problem? Chronic stress, negative thoughts, can weaken the immune system, leaving the body vulnerable to infections.
