Anitta, 31, is hoarse and the reason was Rebeca Andrade’s gold medal win in the artistic gymnastics floor exercise at the 2024 Olympics. The singer’s excitement also has to do with the use of her song “Movimento da Sanfoninha” in the winning choreography. “Rebeca, you are the pride of our country! I’m hoarse from screaming so much! I’m here seconds after you were the big winner. You, who competed with my song all this time. I thought I was great!”, she exclaimed in a video.

The singer of “Envolver”, “Vai Malandra” and “Funk Rave” also wrote a short text in the caption of a post on social media. “This queen used my song throughout the competition in her solo performance and I feel very emotional. Thank you, Rebeca, for representing us so beautifully and for using my song. It means the world to me.”

Anitta also highlighted the achievement of Rebeca Andrade, 25, in becoming the greatest Brazilian medalist in history. “Queen, thank you for representing Brazil so well. Only Brazilians know how difficult it is to be an athlete in our country,” commented the singer.

She went on to recall the reverence of Americans Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles, silver and bronze respectively in the competition for the Brazilian. “You need to have a lot of love, resistance and will, in place of everything else that is so lacking. You are an example of struggle and determination. I love you and support you now in victory and I love you and support you in the future, whatever it may be”, concluded the singer.
