Hospitalized since Thursday (1) at the Albert Einstein Hospital in São Paulo, Silvio Santos, 93, continues to be observed by the medical team. SBT reported that the presenter is doing well and is already receiving visits from family members, but the real reason for the businessman’s return to the hospital after two weeks is still unknown.
Silvio was recovering well from the H1N1 flu. Last Wednesday (31), he complained of being very tired and, as a precaution, the doctors decided to do new routine tests the following day. They then discovered a bacteria. For this reason, the presenter began taking a course of antibiotics and only on Sunday (4), one of the medications tested took effect and the patient began to show signs of improvement.
The team monitoring Silvio Santos believes that hospitalization is important to monitor the presenter due to his advanced age. The doctors have not yet announced a discharge date.
The team caring for Silvio, at the family’s request, has maintained a ban on disclosing information about the presenter’s health status, even internally at Albert Einstein. Not even the doctors and nurses on duty in the emergency room have access to the medical records of the SBT owner, who is hospitalized in an exclusive area with restricted access.
Wanted by F5the Albert Einstein Hospital asks that any questions related to the presenter be sent to SBT’s official press office. “We have no updates. Silvio Santos remains in the hospital only for necessary medical care,” the broadcaster said in a statement.
