Olympics: Simone Biles’ enemy reports death threats after fight with gymnast

After criticizing the American artistic gymnastics delegation at the Paris Olympics and engaging in a public feud with Simone Biles, gymnast MyKayla Skinner, 27, took to social media to say she has been receiving death threats from fans of the Olympic team champion.

In a video posted on Instagram, MyKayla asks Biles’ followers to stop sending her negative and offensive messages, and reinforces that she did not intend to belittle anyone when she said that the 2024 team would not have “work ethic”.

MyKayla competed for the United States at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, but missed out on qualifying for Paris after giving birth to her first child.

“Simone, I am asking you directly and publicly to please put an end to this. Tell your followers to stop, you have been an incredible advocate for mental health awareness and so many people need your help right now,” she said in a video.

“I have received threats, even death threats, against myself and my family. My family and friends do not deserve to go through this,” he added.

Before that, the gymnast made two public apologies. She explained that she was comparing the 2024 Olympic team to the 2021 one, with which she competed under the guidance of coach Marta Karolyi.

The gymnasts on the winning team were unhappy with their former teammate’s criticism and sent indirect messages shortly after winning the title. Simone Biles posted a carousel of photos on her Instagram profile with the caption: “Talentless, lazy and Olympic champions.”

Jordan Chiles, also on the team, posted a photo showing that Biles had been blocked by MyKayla on Instagram. The gymnast made fun of the incident on her X profile (formerly Twitter): “Oops, I’ve been blocked.”
