Singer Preta Gil, 50, took to social media to say that she has started chemotherapy. And she thanked everyone for the messages of support she has received.
“First day of chemotherapy, I have a lot to share with you! But I’m waiting for the right moment when I’ll be stronger,” she began.
“I am already grateful for all the messages of affection, strength and religious expressions from all faiths in favor of my recovery. Thank you very much,” she wrote.
Preta said last Thursday (22) that she would need to resume treatment for bowel cancer. After undergoing routine tests at the SÃrio-Libanês Hospital in São Paulo, she learned that she would have to resume treatment.
It was in December 2023 that the singer announced that the treatment had been completed. “My loves, the day of this long-awaited video has finally arrived and it is with great joy that I come to share this news! My cancer treatment ends after surgery to reconstruct my intestinal tract and reverse the ileostomy. I am still in the rehabilitation process and will be under medical care for five years,” she said at the time.
