Singer Elton John, 77, says his sons Zachary, 13, and Elijah, 11, are worried about how long they will have him around, according to a documentary based on his life, titled “Elton John: Never Too Late”.
The project was previewed during the Toronto International Film Festival, which runs until September 15, and will be released on Disney+ on December 13.
“They think about my mortality. They worry about my mortality,” said the “Rocket Man” star and husband of David Furnish.
According to him, both children “love their father, so they want me to be around forever, [e] I would love to be around forever,” he commented.
“I want to see them have kids and get married. I don’t think I’ll be around for that. Who knows? So that’s why I want to make the most of my time,” he added.
The singer recently announced on social media that he has spent the last few months recovering from a ‘serious eye infection’. He said his vision should return to normal, but that the process will take some time.
“I am so grateful for the amazing team of doctors, nurses and my family who have taken such great care of me these past few weeks,” the artist shared in a post on his Instagram.
He also said he has high hopes for his recovery. “I spent the summer quietly recovering at home, and I’m optimistic about the progress I’ve made in my recovery so far.”
