The country music superstar, Garth Brooksis accused of rape, sexual assault and battery in a lawsuit filed against him in California court. The plaintiff using the pseudonym “Jane Roe”, she was working as a hair stylist and makeup artist for the Grammy-winning singer when he raped her, the lawsuit states.

The woman in the suit also alleges he repeatedly groped her and made explicit sexual comments to her during her time working with him, from 2017 to 2020. In a statement to the media, Garth Brooks said the lawsuit filed against him is “blackmail and defamation defamation”.

The plaintiff states that in May 2019, the singer asked her to travel with him on his private jet to Los Angeles for an Academy Grammy Awards event.

When they arrived at the hotel the plaintiff found that the singer had only booked a one bedroom suite for the two of them to share. She further states that when she entered the hotel suite, Garth Brooks appeared naked at the bedroom door and raped her.

Garth Brooks says in his statement: “For the past two months, I have been plagued endlessly with threats, lies and horror stories about what my future will be if I don’t sign a multi-million dollar check. It’s like a loaded gun being put in my face.”

Brooks filed a lawsuit against the woman last month, alleging she is trying to extort money from him and defame his character in response to his failure to hire her or pay for her medical benefits.

The country singer says in the lawsuit that his wife sent him a letter in July claiming she was sexually assaulted and that Brooks planned to kill her. Brooks claims he received another letter the following month, in which the woman said she would not release the contents of her lawsuit if he gave her a million-dollar settlement.

Garth Bruce is also seeking monetary and punitive damages, attorney’s fees, and a declaration from the court that the woman’s allegations are false.
