Created especially to receive complaints against rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs, 54, a telephone line in the United States received 12,000 calls in 24 hours.
Combs has been in prison since September 16, accused of rape, extortion and sex trafficking. According to Tony Buzbee, the attorney prosecuting Diddy, “When I announced that I was going to pursue these cases, the floodgates really opened. The volume of calls has been overwhelming and kind of shocking,” he told Law & Crime.
“So our task is to try to analyze each of these calls and ensure that we are identifying the victims and witnesses and collecting evidence,” he reinforced.
So far, 120 new sexual abuse cases are expected to be filed against the music mogul in the coming weeks.
“We will expose the enablers who enabled this conduct behind closed doors. We will investigate this matter no matter who the evidence implicates,” Buzbee said in an online news conference.
“The entertainment industry’s biggest secret, which was actually no secret at all, has finally been revealed to the world. The wall of silence has now been broken.”
