Limp Bizkittheir leader, Fred Durst, and label Flawless Records have jointly filed a lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG), accusing the group of withholding streaming rights to their music. In the lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court of California, the band and record label claim they haven’t been paid for more than 500,000 streams they’ve garnered amid a resurgence in their popularity.

Specifically, they are seeking more than $200 million, suing UMG for breach of contract, fraudulent concealment and copyright infringement, among other things.

Durst is also seeking to cancel all contracts with UMG on behalf of the nu metal band and Flawless Records, according to a report in The Independent newspaper.

The five-piece band, consisting of singer/guitarist Fred Durst, bassist Sam Rivers, drummer John Otto, guitarist Wes Borland and DJ Lethal (turntable), claims in the lawsuit that every year since 2017, their assets have been in steady growth of 30% to 40% and peaked at around 68% in the last year alone, despite no new music being released.
