Angelina Jolie, 49, was seen with rapper Akala, 40, at the premiere of the film “Maria” at the 68th London Film Festival this Friday (18)
According to the Daily Mail newspaper, rumors of a romance between the actress and the British musician emerged when the two were seen leaving their hotel during the Venice International Film Festival in August.
Angelina has been seen in public several times with Akala amid her split from Brad Pitt, although sources told People magazine that the two are just friends.
Around the time of the Venice Film Festival, rumors surfaced that Angelina had been seeing Akala for “over a year.” That’s because he reportedly joined Jolie and her daughters Zahara, 19, and Shiloh, 18, at the Calabash literary festival in Jamaica in May 2023.
In addition to Zahara and Shiloh, Jolie and her ex-husband Pitt share sons Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, and 15-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.
However, a source told People that Jolie “is friends with him [Akala] and his partner, Chanelle [Newman]who was also there.” Newman is his business partner and manager.
Still, Angelina and Akala share a strong bond. A source told People that they share a passion for social and humanitarian causes.
Akala, born Kingslee James McLean Daley, started out as a rapper before moving into political activism. Her older sister is the famous singer and rapper Ms. Dynamite.
Akala is reportedly in a relationship with Chanelle Newman, who is the co-founder and executive producer of his music and the Hip-hop Shakespeare Company.
But that’s not the only romance rumor involving Jolie. In Touch magazine claimed that the actress has been seeing another man as well, Broadway composer Justin Levine.
Angelina and Levine were seen together last Monday (14) in New York. He was part of the Broadway production of “The Outsiders”, the musical that Angelina produced.
A source also told the magazine that the men are “totally different” but Jolie is “falling in love with both of them.”
