A cool attitude to all that we have heard lately about the use of the Ancient Theaters by artists of different repertoire was made by Stelios Mainas. The beloved actor was invited to Natalia Germanou and “Kalytera nedi dinda” and he had a lot to say.

“It is easy to step on the banana peel of the unsatisfied. It is in human nature. He wants you to work yourself. I think we’ve all been through this. But you have an obligation to yourself to keep your distance and I try to make do with what I have. At work it’s different. If you make the big mistake and say you got somewhere, you’re done. We actors always start from scratch. We are probably the only business that looks for work 2-3 times a year, and the viewers evaluate us every time from the beginning, from scratch”, said Stelios Mainas first and then he was asked his opinion about Herodion and its use .

“The Herodium, yes, is a Roman conservatory, but it is a public space for the whole world. I don’t think there should be any restrictions. I’m not generally in favor of closed things
Specifically for Herodion, I believe it should be open to everyone. I consider it wrong to have criteria that separate artists. It’s not just the space, it’s the people who give value to a space” emphasized Stelios Mainas and then referred to Epidaurus for which he has a different opinion:

“Epidavros is a different place, which objectively has some maintenance needs. It is a monument that must be preserved and handed down to posterity, it is not a space that we can consume. It should not be “stepped” constantly. The less it is used, the better for the monument itself”
