Rafael Cortez plans new comedy inspired by the old CQC

Ana Cora Lima

One of the members of the first team of the former CQC (Custe O Que Custar), which was in Band from 2008 to 2015, Rafael Cortez plans a similar attraction. He even calls the new version “a generic program.” “It would have to have an identity that respects what CQC was in terms of journalism and humor, without necessarily being canceled in the second week”, he explained.

Cortez says that the idea came from the number of people who meet him on the streets and regrets the end of the program and anticipates not thinking about working with former partners. He denies hurt feelings or attacks and explains the reason for seeking new colleagues. “The fewer direct references we have to the original CQC, the better. I will already be in charge of the project, so of course they will compare because I was a member of the first formation. So, I will try not to bring other members”, said the comedian .

He also said that there is potential to create humor without being sued. “I do humor for all brands, all companies and all types of audiences, as a speaker and as a master of ceremonies. I haven’t stopped doing stand-up, even though I’ve reduced a lot, and I don’t have a cancellation, a process, a animosity, nothing”, he reinforced to Na Telinha.

Finally, he returned to talking about the clash between comedians and the issue of “political correctness”. “I, Rafael, believe that this is a waste of time: It is possible, yes, to create humor in 2024. Respecting diversity, respecting limits and sensitive guidelines”, observed the journalist.
