An obscene gesture made by one of Hollywood’s biggest stars on a TV morning show has caused an uproar and countless reactions. It all happened on the set of “Today,” ABC’s morning talk show.

75-year-old Richard Gere stunned the host, Savannah Guthrie, when she began the interview by making an obscene gesture.

“You just made an obscene gesture on this family morning show”laughed Savannah Guthrie, quickly covering the actor’s hand with her cards.

Richard Gere depicted a scene from the new spy series he stars in, The Agency, which premieres on November 29. The show had already aired a clip of the series, but as the actor explained, the gesture he makes in the series was “cut” from the video.

“You didn’t show it, but that’s what I did in one scene”the actor told the presenter, who admitted that the specific gesture – with the raised finger – was “cut” in the editing. “I understand, but it didn’t make sense without her,” said Richard Gere. He added: My hand did this, I couldn’t control it!’
