“The departure of the two MPs today from the SYRIZA-PS committee is a falsification and a violation of the popular mandate and the decision of Greek men and women that SYRIZA-PS be the official opposition”, emphasized Sokratis Famellos in his statements from the peristyle of the Parliament, commenting on the Poulos – Tzakri independences, which led PASOK to position of the official opposition.

The party’s candidate for president said that “it was rightly characterized by SYRIZA-PS as an institutional diversion” and added that “it is a move that serves the plans of Mr. Mitsotakis not to have a strong and reliable opposition. Plans, which seem to be linked to planning of the entanglement, but also the pursuits of Mr. Androulakis to become the official opposition”.

Mr. Famellos stated that “above all, they violate the citizens’ need to have a better life, which a strong SYRIZA-PS would ensure in the position of the official opposition”. He added that “it is doubly unacceptable when this departure is linked to statements by the previous president drawn from the most false pumping station of Mr. Mitsotakis and Messrs. Samaras, Voridis and Georgiadis, for Mati, for the referendum, for capital controls”. He notes that “the first and only move they must follow [σ.σ.: οι αποχωρήσαντες]is to hand over their seat to SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance and to the Greek men and women who chose to be SYRIZA-PS, the official opposition of the country”, emphasizing that “History will judge this choice of theirs”.

Mr. Famellos said that “on Sunday, SYRIZA-PS has the big appointment with History. And the answer will be given by the Greek men and women, the friends and members of SYRIZA-PS at the polls.” He concluded: “And the only answer must be the strong participation and the mandate to us to continue for a serious, credible and dynamic SYRIZA-PS, which will be a nightmare in the plans and the entanglement and Mr. Mitsotakis. And this appointment, which we have given again with History, we know well how it is given. With camaraderie, collegiality and a strong party. This is our choice, this will be our response.”
