The well-known presenter of cooking shows Eleni Psychoulis hosted by Elena Papavasiliou on EQ’s Action 24 show in a frank discussion about the issues that concern women over 40, ageist racism and bullying towards the image of women.

-Is there an age point where you say now I see things differently?

“Of course, from menopause onwards. At this moment, as everything is being talked about, it is suddenly also about the problems of women from a certain age onwards. Before it was taboo or maybe they didn’t even care. Now we talk very consciously about all these things.

When a woman experiences menopause in a bad way, something happens, something strange because menopause is a release and in fact it comes at a time when you can better manage things in your mind” Eleni Psychouli said initially and continued:

Whereas when your period comes, you are a small child with all the hormones, with an ignorance of danger and ignorance of life, ignorance of everything and a very big problem is added to your life. Because let’s face it, it’s not something pleasant, it’s something that steals your life. Let alone for many women, like me, who were in pain and it was not the easy days of the month.

What does this mean? That you bathe all summer, that you make love without caring. There are not all these practical problems. A new life of freedom begins which also coincides with a cycle of complete life. You had your children, you got divorced and you have 20 years ahead of you to do the things you didn’t do”

While he also mentioned the part of age racism:

“For me there are no ages, a person cannot be limited to a number, they are many things more than a number, the most famous presenters who have a career on television are over 40 years old.

There have always been older women on TV, like Oprah who didn’t have a career in her 20s, or Ellen DeGeneres. Television offers a spectacle, it needs the beauty and freshness of a 24-year-old, but it also needs the experience, the wisdom, the content that older people provide.”
