Period production that is a huge success in Globo’s 6pm slot, “Girl of the Moment” is set in 1958. Costumes, sets and customs from that decade are portrayed in the serial, which also brings up themes related to feminism, racial prejudice and self-acceptance.
“The soap opera is a fable of hope”, defined Poggi when launching the plot. “It has magic, color, dreams, emotion, love and that warm feeling in the heart.”
Played by actress Duda Santos, the protagonist, Beatriz, is sweet and determined at the same time. Her harmony and chemistry with Beto (Pedro Novaes) make the romantic couple one of the highlights of the plot.
The rebelliousness of the antagonist Beatriz (Maisa Silva) also deserves to be highlighted in the story. The humor core, led by Alfredo Honório (Eduardo Sterblitch), presenter of a successful talk show on TV Ondas do Mar, also pleases viewers.
The replacement for “No Rancho Fundo” is the 101st soap opera of the network’s six and is scheduled to continue on air until May 2025. Until then, the author promises some twists, revelations and emotions worthy of an F5 Award-winning plot.
