In the voting, which was carried out for the first time without gender division, Fernanda beat competitors Ailton Graça for “Mussum, O Filmis”, Maeve Jinkings for “Pedágio” and Silvero Pereira for “Maniac do Parque”, in addition to her co-star Selton Mello, also from “I’m Still Here”.
In the film, which continues to break box office records in the country, Fernanda plays Eunice Paiva, widow of deputy Rubens Paiva (Selton Mello), killed and tortured by the military dictatorship.
Directed by Walter Salles and adapted from the work of Marcelo Rubens Paiva, the film put Brazil back on the Oscar route, with emphasis on the actress’s performance. The film was included in the list of 15 pre-nominated films for best international film. The finalists will be announced on January 17th.
If she doesn’t win the film industry’s top prize, Fernanda may know that, among the film’s readers, F5she was always number 1. Congratulations, Fernanda!
