In a move that surprised his fans and Hollywood, Robert Redford, the iconic actor and director, returned to the small screen. After a six -year pause from acting, Redford made a brief but memorable appearance at the premiere of the Third Season of Western thriller “Dark Winds”.

“I never thought I could get to a point in my life where I would know Robert Redford, let alone participate in a scene with him.”said Dark Winds’ protagonist and executive producer Jean McClarnon at Vulture shortly before season’s 3rd premiere.

The legendary actor played a prisoner with the author of “Game of Thrones”, George R. Martin. The shooting was closed the doors, at the request of Redford.

Director Chris E. revealed that Redford’s Cameo was something that was discussed since the first season of the series, while showrunner John Virta said: “I was never really sure that it would happen until it happened.”

Although the star is going through the eighth decade of his life, he still has passion with acting, and has been in the popular series since 2022 as an executive producer. The star’s previous appearance on the big screen was in 2019, when he reiterated the role of former Shield director Alexander Pierce in the film “Avengers: Endgame”.
