Our goal is to have completed all stages of preparation at the date of the interdisciplinary workshop, May 6, 2025, the National Gallery said in a statement in response to the movement of artists, who had protested the non -resetting and re -establishment of vandalized works.

It is recalled that the works of Christoforos Katsadiotis in the exhibition “The Sagian of the Weird”, depicting the aunt, were vandalized by Nikos Papadopoulos MP, as he considered them an insult to the Orthodox Christian religion.

In detail the announcement of the National Gallery:

Honorable members of the artist movement,

We would like to let you know that there is no question of non -restoration of the works of Christopher Katsadiotis in the exhibition “The Senoian of the Weird”.

In fact, it was never raised by the National Gallery – Alexander Soutsos Museum.

Recall that already with the announcement of March 17, 2025 (www.nationalgallery.gr/anakoinwseis/anakoinosi-93/) the National Gallery pledged to find the terms of their safe re-exposure.

It is not enough to restore the damage suffered due to violent posting and precipitation to safely re -install the works.

Today, April 15, 2025, we have reached the design and are in the process of implementing and checking all the upgrading of the security system, staff training and installation of the necessary – intentional – technological equipment.

Our goal is to complete all stages of preparation at the date of the interdisciplinary workshop, May 6, 2025.

However, if a member of the Movement of Artists does not find this position satisfactory, he may contact the EPMA Directorate for the settlement of the Terms of Receipt of his Borrowed Project.
