While Emily in Paris’s fourth season prepared new principles for many characters, it also paved the way for a key protagonist to leave. Camille Razat will not return for Season 5 and just explained why it was “the right time” to leave behind the popular Netflix series.

Farewell to Emily in Paris

Razat’s departure became known when Netflix’s Tudum posted details of the production of the 5th season on April 17. Her name did not appear on the cast’s list and Variety said she would not return. The actress did not comment immediately, but almost a week later, on April 23, addressed her fans via Instagram to explain her decision.

Describing her experience in the series as “an incredible journey” and a “truly wonderful experience”, Razat wrote that she decided to “leave” from Emily in Paris. He thanked creator Darren Star, Netflix and Paramount Pictures for the opportunity to embody Camille – and for “leaving the door open for a possible return, as it will always be part of the world of Emily in Paris.”

“This character meant a lot to me and I feel that her story was naturally completed,” Razat added, referring to Camille’s decision to adopt a child on her own and move on to her life away from Gabriel (Lucas Bravo). “I felt it was the right time to explore new horizons.”

Razat shared more about these “new horizons” waiting for her. He mentioned two upcoming series in which he just finished shooting: Netflix Nero’s dramatic series and Disney+ Lost Station Girls series.

In addition, she announced the founding of her own production company, Tazar, which so far produces music and short films and now develops her first feature film. It is an area in which she stated that she is “really passionate and is looking forward to evolving.”

An invaluable reaction

Razat completed her message with a sweet farewell to her colleagues and fans:
“I leave the series with only love and admiration for the cast, the workshop and the fans who supported us all the way,” he wrote. “Thank you for this wonderful experience.”

Her co -stars made sure to pay her love through their comments. In a moving move, each key member of Emily in Paris’s original cast-Lily Collins (Emily), Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie), Ashley Park (Mindy Chen), Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Bruno Gourey (Luc) and Samueel Arnold (Julien) – as well as some of the newer members, responded with words of support.

“I love you, my sister,” Collins wrote. “It was a crazy route and absolute joy. You’re a rock star. I’m so proud of you. “

The 5th season’s shooting begins in Rome in May and, although Emily in Paris will continue without Razat, there is always the possibility of returning to the future if she wants it. As she herself said, the door remains “open for her return.”
