The plot of the new movie Bullet Train may have to do with 5 killers on a high-speed train, but the protagonist remains Brad Pitt with his characteristic bucket hat.
The Bullet Train will take us to Japan
The five killers, named Kimura, Prince, Ladybug, the duo Tangerine and Lemon, board the same high-speed train in Japan. Everyone knows that they are looking for a specific briefcase. However, Pitt, when he undertook this mission, had no idea that he would have to compete with 4 very well-trained assassins to achieve his goal. What was presented to him as a very easy and daily job by his boss, played by Sandra Bullock, ends up becoming a game of life and death at very high speeds.
The film is a adaptation of a novel by Japanese author Kōtarō Isaka
He is world-renowned for his talent in mystery stories and so the news of the transfer of this book did not take long to come. The novel Maria Beetle, rendered in English as the Bullet Train, is just one of Isaka’s works that have been made into a movie. The most famous and characteristic example is the movie Fish Story released in 2009.
Brad Pitt did 95% of the scenes himself
One would expect that in such a film with so much intensity and so many action scenes, the actors would have been replaced by stuntmen. However, as it turned out, Brad Pitt was very excited about this project and so he wanted to do the majority of the scenes on his own. Already from the trailer it seems that this is a perfectly choreographed work and each fight scene is more reminiscent of a dance spectacle, than an action movie.
Bullet Train, like many other films of recent years, has completed its shooting in the pandemic and that is why it was late enough to be released. However, we now expect it in theaters at the end of July.
