The author Benedito Ruy Barbosa, 94, presented positive clinical evolution, according to medical bulletin released on Friday night (6). Hospitalized since May 20 at the Intensive Care Unit of HCor (Syrian Heart Hospital Charity Association) in São Paulo, it should be transferred to a quarter in the next 24 hours.
According to the medical team, Benedito is currently in a wing intended for patients with less complexity and severity.
“HCor reports that patient Benedito Ruy Barbosa continues to evolve positively, with the prospect of being transferred from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) wing intended for lower complexity and severity patients for the room in the next 24 hours. There is no forecast of discharge,” the hospital said in a statement.
Author of remarkable soap operas such as “Pantanal” (1990), “Renascer” (1993), “The King of Cattle” (1996), “Terra Nostra” (1999), “Cabocla” (2006) and “Velho Chico” (2016), among others, Benedito suffers from chronic renal failure – condition characterized by progressive and irreversible loss of kidney function, which can lead to toxins in the body, already that the kidneys are responsible for filtering the blood.
