João Silva, son of presenter Faustão, used social networks this Friday (8) to inform about his father’s recovery and thank the affection messages received. Fausto Silva, 75, underwent a liver transplant last Wednesday (6), combined with a kidney relay that, according to Hospital Israelite Albert Einstein, was planned a year ago.
According to John, Faustão “is a very strong guy” and is evolving well in recovery. “He inspires everyone, the friends, the family, and we see that the word really of this moment is resilience. To thank God for actually giving my father the opportunity to recover,” he said.
John took the opportunity to thank in the name of the family all the support and prayers, regardless of belief. “This really makes a difference in these moments. He is doing very well in the recovery. Thank you, in the name of my family, my mother Luciana, my brothers Lara and Rodrigo, and all friends. Thank you very much,” he added.

According to the medical bulletin released shortly after surgery, the presenter had been hospitalized since May 21 due to an acute bacterial infection with sepsis. During the period, it underwent infectious control and clinical and nutritional rehabilitation for healthcare stabilization.
The former Globo pronouncer faces a recent history of health complications. In August 2023, he underwent a heart transplant after heart failure. Months later, in February 2024, he underwent a kidney transplant as a result of the aggravation of a chronic renal condition.
Since then, he has followed treatment under constant medical follow -up. He even held hemodialysis sessions until his clinical condition allowed the adoption of another protocol.
In early 2025, he was hospitalized again due to an infection, but was high days later and followed treatment at home.
