In the Russian version of the Eurovision Song Contest, Intrevision, which will take place in Moscow in September, will be attended by the United States. According to Politico, America will be represented by Brandon Howard, known by the artistic name B. Howard.

B. Howard has been in the center of scenarios who want him to be the son of Michael Jackson, although there is no evidence to confirm these claims. Jackson’s father, Joe, was a manager of Howard’s mother, singer Miki Howard, during her career.

Howard’s music “crosses beyond the border and joins cultures,” Intervision organizers said in a Telegram post through which they announced his participation.

Intervision, the Eurovision version during the Soviet era, was held between 1965 and 1980 in the then Communist Czechoslovakia. The institution was revived by the beginning of 2025 by Russian President Vladimir Putin, appointing Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Cernisenko as chairman of the Organizing Committee.

It is recalled that Russia was eliminated by Eurovision after its invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

In the Intervision competition, Russia will be represented by Shaman (real name Yaroslav Yuryevich Dronov), who is a nationalist image of the country.

Other countries that will participate in the competition, which will take place on September 20, are Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Venezuela, Serbia (candidate for EU accession), Cuba, Qatar and Kazakhstan.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said it considers the event “a means of hostile propaganda and a means of covering up the Russian federation’s aggressive policy”.
