The Red Hot Chili Peppers starred on Hollywood Walk of Fame for their four decades in the music industry

The band from Los Angeles, formed in 1983, returned with their 12th album “Unlimited Love”.

On the eve of the album’s release, the Red Hot Chili Peppers with their current lineup, Anthony Kiddis, John Frusciade, Chad Smith and Fly were present at the ceremony to receive the 2,717th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The guitarist John Frusciade – who returned to the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 2019 after almost a decade – spoke first, recalled moving to Hollywood for the first time as a teenager in 1987 and thanking “everyone in the world for whom music means something”.

Flynn then referred to his long-standing relationship with Glory Avenue, telling attendees that he “ran” there as a young man and played the trumpet at a nearby Southern California university.

“I know this road in and out and the road knows me,” he said. “And whenever we travel around the world, this road has always been a part of me. “I’m really grateful that we can be a part of it now.”

Chad Smith spoke of an “amazing attendance” at the ceremony and referred to the band’s older members. “I have to mention my brother, Taylor Hawkins,” he said, referring to the recently deceased Foo Fighters drummer. “I love him and we will miss him so much.”

Smith added: “It is circulating around […] He would laugh and make a nice clever comment about this whole thing and I love him. “

“To me, this is not a story of people. I love Chad, Fleece, John very much. They are amazingly talented […] “Something happens when we are together that is much more important than when we are individual parties,” said the band’s singer, Anthony Kiddis.

“We started playing music in bars up and down this street and making a handful of people dance,” he added.

“We stayed together as a group and as a band and now we can make everyone dance and feel happy,” Kidd said.

George Clinton, producer of the band’s second album “Freaky Styley”, released in 1985, and actor Woody Harrelson also spoke about Red Hot Chili Peppers.
