For the first time in Greece, fifteen cities and islands, in eastern Macedonia, Thrace, the eastern Aegean and Thessaloniki acquire their own cultural Masterplan: Ikaria, Samos, Chios, Lesvos, Limnos, Leros, Kos, Rhodes, Rhodes, Xani

The project was implemented by the funding by the Recovery and Resilience Fund and by the Ministry of Culture, through the Directorate of Contemporary Creation, with studies carried out by three academic institutions: the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the University of Thessaloniki and the University of Thessaloniki.

The total budget of the project amounted to EUR 592,031.08, with resources from the recovery and resilience fund.

Cultural Masterplans are not just a reflection and mapping of existing cultural activity. It is a strategic development tool that aspires to integrate culture into the wider regional and local design. It is a project of strategic importance, which for the first time, perhaps, brings to scientific knowledge with creativity and local communities, with the aim of contributing to the creation of a new model of cultural development in the context of sustainable development, overcoming the simple mapping of the cultural field. The aim is to make the integrated mapping of the cultural landscape of each region, to form a brand that will link historical memory to modern creation, the development of strategic directions for the utilization of cultural resources, the connection of culture and economics, with the aim of sustainable local development, to enhance social cohesion, social cohesion, Future actions, partnerships and funding.
